Welcome to SPAIN

Information about SPAIN Geographically, Spain"s diversity is immense. It is Europe"s second largest and second highest country. More than half of the country is made up of vast, elevated tablelands - the mesetas - and five major mountain ranges stretch across the country. There are endless tracts of wild sierra to explore, as well as some spectacularly rugged stretches of coast between the beaches. In true Spanish style, cultural events are almost inevitably celebrated with a wild party and a holiday. The best festivals are mostly concentrated between Semana Santa (the week leading up to Easter Sunday) and September to October. The Spanish invented the novel and the guitar, and they also gave the world flamenco, Picasso and gazpacho soup. Spain has been the home of some of the world"s great artists - El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Dalí, Picasso - and has museums and galleries to match. This is a modern, thriving European state with a variety of industries and services, and good global trade links.
